By September I had a new opening vignette:

...and the revision was finished. I crossed my fingers and sent it to Dorothy. In November I was in New York to attend a conference and Dorothy and I met for lunch. We talked about the conference and then she asked me who I thought would be a good illustrator for Sara's City - her way of telling me that she was going to publish my book.
