Sue Alexander, author of such books as Whatever Happened to Uncle Albert?, Behold the Trees, and One More Time, Mama, surprised us all by passing away on July 3, 2008. She helped create, sustain and guide the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators for over three decades — her passion and pride has left an indelible mark on what children read to this day, and what she has taught should serve as hope to children in the future.

The Sue Alexander Award still exists as part of that legacy. She loved to share her philosophies and process in order to educate students and teachers, and this site allowed her to bring that enjoyment to a much larger audience. In her memory, this site will also remain to help fulfill that promise.

I’m the author of more than twenty children’s books and I love what I do! I invite you to explore my web site and share my joy in my work.

You’ll enjoy seeing World Famous Muriel as she appears here and there on the site. She is here through the generosity of Chris L. Demarest, the talented illustrator who created her image to match my words in the books about her. I’m extremely grateful to Chris for allowing me to use her image.

Remember, look for the sign to find new stuff on the site!
